Senate Economics Committee Looking At Charities

You may have heard that the Australian Government has announced two important inquiries recently. The Australian Evangelical Alliance and Missions Interlink wished to respond intelligently and responsibly to these inquiries - with the interest of our member organisations uppermost in our minds.

After a forum discussion in Melbourne mid August, AEA and MI were able to make a detailed submission to the Senate Economics Committee reviewing this. Keith Benson, the facilitator of this network, was heavily involved in the drafting of this submission. A copy of this document is attached.

AEA and MI have been asked to appear before a public hearing of the Senate Economics Committee at 1.45 pm Melbourne time on 30 October. This will be a crucial opporunity for clear input on behalf of our members.
